Praise and worship songs are available in every country. Chinese praise and worship songs, certainly, have its own characters. China experienced a tough war period. After the victory of Anti-Japanese War in 1945, civil war in China exposed. Appearing the reversal of Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China in 1948, three campaigns broke out on the verge, including the Liaoshen Campaign, Huaihai Campaign and Pingjin Battle (three strategic battles).

Communist Party of China won the wars and People’s Republic of China was founded in 1949. The newborn government encouraged civilians to create more artistic and musical works which are as colorful as flowers. Praise and worship songs began to change from the revolution to the masses, from classic to popular, from euphemism to unrestrained, from bel canto to rap and from unit to multiple.

With deep feelings of new China, the author yearns for the glorious and happy future of the motherland, and uses the condensed lyrics, deep feelings and heroic melody to imagine the Chinese people's ideal and career. For example, it song,” The five-starred red flag flutter in the wind/The victory song is so loud/Singing our great motherland/Going to the rich and prosperous/Climbing over the mountains/Crossing the plains/Crossing the Yellow River, the Yangtze River…The five-starred red flag flutter in the wind/The victory song is so loud/ Singing our great motherland/Going to the rich and prosperous/We are hardworking/We are brave/Independence and freedom are our ideals/How many troubles have we through/So that we can get the liberation today…” .

The song lyrics of the chorus are unchanged, concentrated in the main body, both in contrast to the rhythm, structure, tone and so on. It is a profound ideological and highly artistic song which odes to the motherland. For decades, this song has spread over the motherland. It has become a new symbol of independent China.

In 1978, the party's the third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee made a beautiful blueprint for a comprehensive reform of the rural China. With the household contract responsibility system carrying out, in a few short years, Chine happened to turn the world upside down. Enter the New Era: High-spirited in Building New Future(走进新时代)

In twenty-first century, the most representative of the chorus of the song is Enter the New Era. This song was written by Jiang Kairu and a composer Yinqing. Entering a New Era expresses the turn of the century Chinese people's high spirited feelings. As one of the Chinese praise and worship songs, it is full of the spirit of patriotism, and the melody is full of righteousness.

Its lyrics are optimistic as well. As it sings,” I always want to declare to you /How heroic my mood is /I always want to talk to you/ How passion I have in life/Hard-working and brave Chinese/Enter the new era with high-spirited and vigorous/Ah We enter the new era with high-spirited and vigorous/We sing oriental red/ Standing up by ourselves/We tell the story in spring/Reforming and be rich then/Leaders bring us enter the new era, hold the flag high and create future”. It praises our great party and people with vocals and chorus form, expressing the turn of the whole century. Chinese people have a great passion into a new era of good life feelings with grand leaders’ guide.

In 1996, the writer Jiang Kairu, from Shenzhen Luohu District, was invited to write songs for the return of Hongkong. In 1997, after the death of Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Kairu saw the report of Comrade Jiang Zemin which said that “To hold high the great banner of Deng Xiaoping Theory, to further deepening of reform and opening up”. The report inspired Jiang.

Thus, Jiang believed that the reformation would continue successfully. Then, Jiang wrote down his feelings in diary,” Standing up, we are talking about the story of the spring, the reform and opening up, the rich and the future/the leader who leads us into the new era, hold high the banner and create the future”.

Three sentences became lyrics later in Enter the New Era. Composer Yinqing wrote the tune once he received the lyrics. And he wrote two drafts: The first draft was very heroic, and it sounded like a march, and the second was a little much softer. Then, Yinqing brought the two cores to the front-line troupe head. The front-line troupe head liked both the scores. However, Yinqing heard that the head was humming the second one, so Yinqing chose the second one finally.

In June15, 1997, Hong Kong Morning suites unveiled officially. LuoHu District decided to use the last song China Lucky to tribute Chinese Fifteenth National Congress of the Communist Party. The song was brought to CCTV. Leaders and comrades of CCTV participated in the creation and modification of this song. And they renamed it Enter the New Era.In 1999, Enter the New Era won five awards of the CPC Central Committee Propaganda Department.

Chinese praise and worship songs are in line with international mainstream standards. Comparing to praise and worship songs in other countries, such as Marseilles Song in French, Star Spangled Banner in United States and Poland Never Perish in Poland, they praise the prosperity of the motherland and the people’s free democracy. China, born in blood and fire, has revolutions several times, memorizing its profound ideals and vision of the state power.

Its praising songs are war songs mostly. In a certain sense, national anthems reflect the national spirit, unyielding and tenacious in war is the most important national spirit and the founding of a country. The spirit is worthy to be written in praising songs which can spread through a country forever.

We can find that our government is trying it’s best to build a better country. For example, in 1990s, the main contents of Chinese Communist Party are: the party and the government implement the strategy of "Rejuvenating the country through science and education", and clearly put forward the strategic position of "Putting education on the priority development”. Since 1980s, high technology is vigorously developing around the world. International competition is fierce. China has decided to carry out the Chinese high-tech Development Plan, named “863”. And in recent years, China gets more and more achievements in front of other countries as well.

In my prospective, Chinese praise and worship songs show that China is growing stronger and stronger and it is making efforts in building a better life for civilians. Besides, it tried its best to balance the distance between the rich and the poor. Numerous advantages that government makes are praised by civilians. I believe that more and more praise and worship songs will be born with their yearning for a more successful future.
