Chinese Words:
Chunyun 春运
This week we like to share the word “春运”. “Chunyun” refers to the Spring Festival travel rush in China, which occurs annually around the time of the Lunar New Year. It is a period characterized by a significant increase in passenger travel as people return to their hometowns to celebrate the festival with their families. The term “Chunyun” literally means “spring transportation” and encompasses the high volume of travel by rail, road, air, and waterways during this festive season.
In this year, many places in China occured the bad weather which have a big effect to the Spring Festival travel. Many people stayed on the highway a few day due to the iced way. Fortunately, the government solved this problem and the people aroud the highway also help the travelers.
