The Five Great Chinese Number Songs

 There is a kind of songs into which numbers are integrated. Numbers can bring for different effect and express different emotion. Number Songs always leave a strong impression. Today, four  Chinese songs with numbers will be introduced.

1.A Thousand Miles Away

A thousand Miles Away is a song sung by Fei Yuqing and Jay Chou. The song combines Jay Chou’s R&B style with Fei Yuqing’s bel canto. It is a mixture of two different ways of singing, showing strong contrast.

2.To Borrow Another Five Hundred Years From Heaven

It is the music played at the end of the TV series Kangxi Dynasty. Kangxi Dynasty is a large historical TV series produced in 2001. The TV series depicts the legendary life of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. To Borrow Another Five Hundred Years From Heaven is sung by Han Lei.

It has become his representative works. The song expresses a great emperor’s lofty aspirations, so many ambitious Chinese men like it. The song won the honor of “Outstanding Songs of TV Series Since Reform and Opening up in 1978”.

3.Ten Years

This song is sung by Eason Chan. Eason Chan is a famous singer from Hong Kong. The song is about a man and his lover. Ten years ago, they were lovers. But now they are not lovers and become  friends. When lovers are not able to love each other, they are only ordinary friends. It expresses endless bitterness and lovers’ regrets. The song is one of the most requested songs in KTV.

4.The first Snow in 2002

The song is a description of Urumqi, Xinjiang Province after the first snow in 2002. Although its rhythm is strong and its style is rough, it   expresses a kind of quietness in it. It reminds people of high sky and vast desert .

5.Loving You 10 Thousand Years

 Loving You 10 Thousand Years is a very popular song by Hong Kong Cantopop singer Andy Lau. “Love you for 10,000 years”, as the song says, wishes the love can last forever. It sings as follows:
